911 Callers question?

If I call 911 on somebody in my house, from a cell phone. can I remain annonymous? and will they tell my parents the call came from this house?
Answer:
911 in many areas is often not free - so it would show up on a land-line phone bill. On cell phones, ALL calls appear on the bill.

Who pays the bills?

If it is your folks - then they will ultimately find out by seeing the phone bill.

1-800-4-A-CHILD is a National Agency for children or adults to call and report abuse. Being a child in the midst of abusive adults IS a form of child abuse.

Call them for advice. A toll free number DOES show up on a cell phone bill - but NOT a land line house phone bill.

Here's a link to many National Abuse Hotline numbers:

Also - The front pages of your hometown phone book should have the non-emergency phone number for your local police. You should call and speak to a dispatcher - ask for a reference to speak to someone about your concerns about the abuse in your home. They can set up a call to someone that can help you determine if this is something that would merit a call to 911 when the problem occurs.

Speak to a counselor or teacher about your issues.

Just remember... bringing the police makes it a matter of public record - and they will seek a method of terminating the problem. Find out all that can happen. Be informed. Find a way to get counseling for yourself - because you need someone to talk to about this.

All marriages have hard times.
Some are bad for a very long time.
Some are violent - and leave huge emotional scars.

Get good advice - and follow what is RIGHT.

I pray you find a way for protection and peace, dear one.
God bless.

Good luck, hon.
No they will not tell your parents. But if this is a prank call, they can and will get the info and you will face charges.
They will be able to tell what phone it came from.
Yes you can, and all depends on the circumstance.
Heh nope.
you can remain anonymous but if its a prank they'll come find you and you'll have a lawsuit on your hands.
Just Call, If You Have To... You Can Also Say "Please Leave My Name And Number Out Of This." Basically Tell Them The Truth. You're Calling For Help And That You Want To Be Anonymous. I Know What You Are Talking About... My Parents Use To Fight A Lot Too And I Always Hated It... I Try To Stop It Once But Didnt Happen, I Got Shove Into The Closet. Good Luck Man. Stay Chill, Dont Worry To Much
You can remain anonymous when calling 911, but the phone will typically show your GPS coordinates. A land line phone will show the address, phone number, and the name of the person registered to the phone. A cell phone shows the phone number and if it is a newer phone it will show a GPS coordinate. The situation that you are describing is Domestic Violence. Sometimes it takes calling the police to get help started. If you want, when you are in a situation like that, take your landline phone, dial 911 and lay the phone down. Police are typically dispatched to open line and 911 hangup calls. They will investigate what is going on and can help you.
