A car with legal plates but broken down was towed away off my property by by the state ,is this legal?

the car has been broken down for a long time and has flat tires but it has always been plated. Also its on my property in my drive not on the street.
Answer:
Probably - it depends on local ordinances. Many cities have laws against abandoning old junkers even on your own property. It was probably an eye-sore and your neighbors called it in.
Probably. It depends upon the county or city ordinances. The county where I live has laws like that. In fact, I knew a fellow who had a bunch of car parts in his back yard. The county came and hauled most of it off and sent him a bill for doing that!
The Liberal Nanny state wants to control ALL aspects of our life.
In most states as long as the vehicle is registered they can't tow it off your property.
Yes, it's legal. The car is considered a hazzard because it hasn't been moved and has flat tires.
Ask a lawyer. It depends on your local laws. Are you sure it was towed by the state? It might have been the city or town. Also, if the plates were legal, I doubt they had the right to take it.
