911 calls for abuse?

is it possible to locate old 911 calls made in order to support long term abuse in a parental rights case. Is the information even saved, and for how long?
Answer:
How long depends on the states law along with agency policy. It could be 1 year or it may be several.

You can file a FOIA (Freedom of Informarion Act) request to see if you qualify to get copies of the calls assuming they still have them.

It sounds like you should have an attorney, he/she will have a much easier time getting them.
yes it is posible.
yes, I know 911 calls are kept at least for a year or 2(for court reasons)call your local police station (the NON emergency #) and maybe they can help you
Call your local police station and ask them they might help or its possible you can subpoena them.
the info is available but is generally hidden from the public. contact your local police department and explain your role in knowing the information and they will give it to you.
the how long depends on the city, but they all have to keep them for some point in time. Go talk to the office that was actually called or responded to the call. They will have your answers not anybody on here.
I am a 911 dispatcher, so I may be able to help with this. I know in our dispatch center, actual calls are recorded, copied onto CD's and kept for a period of several months. The only people who may request call information are police agencies, fire and EMS personnel, attorneys and the court system. Additionally, we have the capability of using our computer software to access a history of responses to any given address in our county. Our local police agencies have this information also. Hope this helps.
